When TIYE (Technology Initiative for Youth Employability) helped birth the Ogun Digital Summit in 2020, the vision was simple but bold: to create a dedicated space where Ogun State’s enormous youth talent could meet opportunity, inspiration, and industry. Five years later, that vision has grown into something far bigger than any of us imagined.
From an Idea to a Movement
Ogun State is home to the highest number of tertiary institutions in Nigeria, a fact that makes it one of the most talent-rich regions on the continent. Yet for years, that talent had no single platform to connect with the broader tech ecosystem. No stage. No convening. No bridge. Ogun Digital Summit was built to be that bridge.
What began as a grassroots tech gathering has since grown into Ogun State’s foremost technology and innovation summit, attracting entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and young innovators from across Nigeria every year.
Five Editions. Thousands of Lives Touched.
Over the course of five editions, the Ogun Digital Summit has:
- Hosted over 7,000 young people across all editions
- Welcomed industry heavyweights including Kashifu Inuwa (Director-General, NITDA), Joshua Chibueze (Co-founder, PiggyVest), Mayowa Kuyoro (Partner, McKinsey West Africa), Joel Ogunsola (Co-founder, Tech4Dev), and Engr. Noimot Salako (Deputy Governor, Ogun State)
- Established itself as a credible platform connecting young innovators directly to investors, mentors, and employers
Each edition has gone deeper, moving from inspiration to action, from awareness to access.
The 6th Edition — November 20, 2025
The most recent edition, held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, raised the bar once again. With over 3,000 attendees expected, the 2025 edition tackled the conversations that matter most right now, building startups in the era of AI, the future of work, blockchain and Web3, agritech for sustainable economies, startup investment, and the role of policy in driving ecosystem growth.
Confirmed speakers included Abideen Yusuf, Managing Director of Microsoft Nigeria and Ghana, and Seye Bandele, Co-founder of PaidHR, alongside a host of founders and innovators shaping Nigeria’s tech landscape.
Beyond the conversations, the 2025 edition showcased innovations emerging from the Ogun ecosystem and created live connections between early-stage startups and investors — turning the summit into a launchpad, not just a conference.
Why This Matters for TIYE’s Mission
Every edition of the Ogun Digital Summit is an extension of what TIYE stands for. We do not just train young people, we build the ecosystem around them. We create the stages they speak on, the networks they tap into, and the opportunities they step into.
The summit is proof that youth empowerment is not just about skills. It is about visibility, access, and community.
What’s Next
As we look ahead, TIYE remains committed to making the Ogun Digital Summit bigger, more impactful, and more connected to real outcomes for young people — more startups funded, more careers launched, more innovations celebrated.
Ogun State has the talent. We are building the infrastructure around it.
TIYE is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to empowering young Africans through digital skills, education technology, and access to quality employment opportunities. The Ogun Digital Summit is one of TIYE’s flagship annual initiatives.
